Physical Intervention, PMVA & Breakaway
Physical intervention is a framework focused on preventing and safely managing violence or aggression through risk assessment, de-escalation, and, where unavoidable, safe physical responses. Breakaway techniques are non-restrictive skills that enable staff to safely release from grabs or holds, create space, and move to safety without restraining the individual.
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) training helps staff understand the underlying reasons for behaviour, enabling more effective, person-centred support. By identifying unmet needs and triggers, learners can improve quality of life and reduce the likelihood of behaviours that challenge.
Managing Conflict & Behaviours of Distress
Managing conflict and behaviours of distress involves recognising underlying triggers and responding in a way to de-escalate the situation. It’s essential to ensure safety to all involved through risk management and problem solving.
Safeguarding
Safeguarding training equips staff with the knowledge and skills to protect children, young people and vulnerable adults from harm, abuse, neglect, and exploitation. It helps ensure a safe environment, promotes welfare, and enables staff to identify risks early and respond appropriately to keep individuals safe.
Lone Workers
Lone worker training is essential for ensuring the safety of individuals working alone, especially when dealing with people exhibiting behaviours of distress. This course will teach them strategies to stay safe when entering service users’ houses, to recognise early signs of agitation and escalation and techniques to manage these situations calmly and safely.
Ligature Removal
Ligature Removal courses are specialised training courses designed for any setting where there is a potential risk of suicide, but especially in health, social care, custodial settings and secure patient transport services.
